Use the announcement feature in Google Classroom to post encouraging or fun messages to your class. Spend 30 min. at the beginning of the school year or semester to create and schedule fun, encouraging messages to your students. This is a simple and effective way to connect with your students on a personal basis. Let them know you are thinking about them during exam week, they are are excited for homecoming, or looking forward to spring break! In this video I use the BitMoji extension to attach a fun, holiday themed image to the announcement.Fun ways to use the Announcement feature in Google Classroom. - YouTube | |

Do you have a lot of apps on your Chromebook? Organize them with folders! I like to create categories for my apps - photo editing, typing games, science apps, etc. Organizing them makes it a LOT easier to find them and helps me remember which apps I have installed. I became a Google Certified Trainer in 2011. Each year there are three things I have to do to maintain my status: - Record a minimum of 12 training activities for the year - Upload at least one resources to the certified trainer resource database - Pass the annual product exam The Certified Trainer community is amazing! I would highly recommend it if your primary responsibility is training and supporting teachers who use technology. I am offering a free webinar to help you get started! A class discussion is a great way to engage and challenge students to share their ideas and thoughts. But most class discussions are text-based. Some students find it difficult to express themselves through writing. Padlet is a free tool that you can use to facilitate and audio discussion. An audio-only discussion removes the distraction of video and forces students to focus on their message. You can easily connect your Padlet discussion to Google Classroom, Edmodo, Schoology, or whatever LMS you use, just be posting the link to the class page. ***This video is a small part of my 5 week online course on designing multimedia projects for students.
