कद भले ही छोटा हो मगर काम बड़े-बड़े...बात हो रही है विकास खंड कुंदरकी के गाँव हुसैनपुर छिरावली के बच्चों की। गाँव के बच्चों ने अपने कंधों पर सभी को साक्षर बनाने की जिम्मेदारी उठा रखी है। ये बच्चे अपनी पढ़ाई के साथ-साथ गाँव के उन अभिभावकों को जागरूक करते हैं जिनके बच्चे स्कूल नहीं जाते। इतना ही नहीं रोज शाम को अपने से छोटे बच्चों को मुफ्त में पढ़ाते भी हैं। वहीं गाँव की कुछ बेटियां अनपढ़ महिलाओं को पढ़ना-लिखना सिखा रही हैं। बच्चों के इस प्रयास में विद्यालय प्रबंध समिति के सदस्य भी सहयोग कर रहे हैं।

गाँव का पिंकल पूर्व माध्यमिक विद्यालय में आठवीं का छात्र है। पिंकल रोज सुबह मोहल्ले के सभी बच्चों को लेकर स्कूल जाता है और शाम होते ही उन्हीं बच्चों को अपने घर पर बुलाकर पढ़ाता है। इसके अलावा पिंकल उन बच्चों को भी स्कूल ले जाने का काम कर रहा है जो बीच में पढ़ाई छोड़ चुके थे। पिंकल ने बताया, "मुझे पढ़ाना बहुत अच्छा लगता है। पढ़ाने के साथ-साथ खुद की भी तैयारी हो जाती है। मैं तो बच्चों से रोज स्कूल जाने के लिए कहता हूं। गाँव के जो लोग अपने बच्चों को स्कूल नहीं भेजते उन्हें पढ़ाई का महत्व समझाने की कोशिश करता हूं।
